The Augusta Food Bank is a 501© (3) organization. We partner with Good Shepherd Food Bank in Auburn to provide food to the needy. Some foods are purchased locally as necessary. Federal commodities are available from the Maine State Department of Agriculture. The US Postal Carriers Union Food Drive held each year in May provides a substantial amount of food at a critical time of year. We also benefit from the Spirit of America’s Make-A-Difference Day held each October. Throughout the year, there are multiple food drives throughout the community that support our efforts. We couldn’t operate without the support of the amazing individuals, businesses and congregations of the Augusta and Manchester communities.

Our Mission Shelter for the Homeless is a safe and caring environment that serves lower Fairfield County by providing temporary housing to homeless men, striving to obtain permanent supportive housing and services for men and women tailored to meet their relevant needs, and empowering people to help themselves achieve their greatest level of self-sufficiency. Our Vision To be the best haven of hope, providing solutions for persons experiencing homelessness.

The Los Angeles Mission is a nonprofit organization serving the homeless living on the streets of downtown’s Skid Row. Faithfully, for 75 years, we have saved many lives and have had a profound impact on thousands of others by providing compassionate, humanitarian services to those in desperate need.

Housing on average 30+ men/night. Fed 3 meals a day and do not have to leave during day, no time limit. Contract for behavior, chores, duties, Bible studies, prayer meetings and church services, mandatory when applicable. No government funding so no strings attached. Bodily and Spiritual food supplied.
